HD Truck Body provides structural and component repair for box trucks, semi trucks, trailers, commercial vans, and specialty fleet vehicles throughout San Diego County. Our team brings more than 20 years of industry experience evaluating and repairing damaged truck-body structures and related components.
Collision damage, loading impacts, low-clearance accidents, water intrusion, and long-term commercial use can affect more than the visible exterior surface. We inspect the damaged area together with the surrounding structure to develop a complete repair plan.
Commercial truck and trailer bodies are systems of connected panels, rails, posts, crossmembers, floors, roofs, frames, fasteners, and supports. Damage to one component can affect the alignment, attachment, sealing, or operation of nearby parts.
Our evaluation may include:
Truck and trailer floors depend on crossmembers and secure attachment to the surrounding body structure. Impacts, heavy loading, moisture, and failed hardware can damage floor sections, crossmembers, mounting points, and adjacent components.
Repairs may require floor-board removal, broken-fastener removal, crossmember replacement, alignment, welding, riveting, bolting, reinforcement, and reinstallation of affected floor sections. The required procedure depends on access, construction, and the extent of damage.
Top and bottom rails connect and support major sections of a commercial body. Rail damage may affect side panels, posts, the roof, floor, rear frame, or front wall.
We evaluate whether a damaged rail can be repaired or requires partial or complete replacement. Supporting work may include panel access, component removal, structural support, alignment, welding, riveting, sealing, and reassembly.
Low-clearance impacts, falling objects, collisions, and water intrusion can damage roof panels, roof bows, upper rails, corner areas, and adjoining body sections.
Roof repairs may include panel replacement, support repair, structural alignment, fastener replacement, sealing, and water-leak testing. When necessary, temporary support is installed to help maintain the body structure during component removal and installation.
Rear and corner impacts often affect multiple connected components. We repair corner posts, corner caps, rear headers, rear sills, rear frames, door-mounting areas, and surrounding panels.
The repair plan considers door fit, hinge or track mounting, floor and roof connections, body alignment, attachment strength, sealing, and final operation.
The front wall and bulkhead help support and enclose the cargo body. Damage may involve panels, framing, fasteners, crossmembers, roof connections, side walls, and body-to-chassis mounting areas.
Our team evaluates access requirements and surrounding structures before repairing, reinforcing, or replacing affected components.
We repair and replace aluminum, fiberglass, and FRP side panels, side skins, posts, rails, and supporting components. Repairs may require removing moldings, hardware, doors, roof-related supports, or adjoining components to access the complete damaged area.
Structural repairs may require steel welding, aluminum welding, custom brackets, reinforcement sections, replacement supports, rails, crossmembers, or other fabricated components. The repair method and material are selected according to the existing construction, damage, attachment requirements, and vehicle application.
After repairs, affected areas are reviewed for fit, alignment, attachment, hardware, sealing, and general condition. Doors, liftgates, lights, hydraulic equipment, and other affected systems are checked according to the completed repair scope.
Pickup and delivery are available to simplify transportation for fleet customers. Qualifying repairs or evaluations may be performed at the customer's yard. On-site service calls are available by appointment and must be scheduled in advance.
